Walnut Mountain development is an established first and second home community developed in 1970 - 1971. It has 912 lots with approximately 370 homes in the development of approximately 1,100 acres. Walnut Mountain is owned solely by the property owners and operated on a yearly budget derived from the annual assessment fees. The development includes a Welcome Station, Gate System, Large Clubhouse, Olympic size Swimming Pool, Water System to all lots, 21 miles of roads, Four Lakes, Picnic Areas, Campground, Nature Trails, and Tennis Courts. Walnut Mountain is managed by an elected 12 member board of directors who volunteer their time and talent.
